According to Toppharmacyschools, Harrisburg is the capital of the state of Pennsylvania in the United States. The city has only 50,000 inhabitants but has a fairly large agglomeration with 596,000 inhabitants (2021).
Introduction
Harrisburg is located on the wide Susquehanna River, in southeastern Pennsylvania. The city is located 155 kilometers north of Washington, 150 kilometers northwest of Philadelphia, 260 kilometers southwest of New York and 265 kilometers east of Pittsburgh. The city is quite an important hub in the state, despite its relatively small population. For the size of the city itself, Harrisburg has a fairly large suburban area, which is over 13 times the size of the city itself. The city is located on the border of the Appalachian Mountains and the agricultural plains to its south.
Road network
Harrisburg has a fairly large highway network, with 7 freeways radiating from the city, 3 of which are Interstate, I-76 is a toll road and passes east-west through the south of the metropolitan area while I-81 comes in from the southwest. comes and heads north. I-83 ends in the city and comes from the south. In addition, US 22 radiates to the northwest, and US 15 to the southwest. SR-283 connects Harrisburg to nearby Lancaster. Harrisburg is therefore an important interchange.
Congestion
Harrisburg is not a very big city and traffic jams are therefore often minimal. The agglomeration has a relatively extensive motorway network, which is dated, however.
